Nestled in the picturesque town of Stromness, right at the heart of Orkney’s world-leading energy industry, Heriot-Watt University’s Orkney campus offers one of the UK’s most stunning and unique university locations for studying marine science and energy-related programmes. It is home to a cluster of organisations including Blue Robotarium partners the European Marine Energy Centre and Aquatera, acting as a “living laboratory” for understanding the future of energy and society.
Over the years, researchers at Heriot-Watt Orkney have made huge contributions to the region’s world-leading energy cluster, with expertise in marine and environmental science, renewable energy, and energy transition.
